The End

Remember that pinprick ray of light in the dark tunnel I told you about? Well, it has encompassed the darkness. The Veiled Path to Destiny has reached The End, and has been passed off to the editor. YAY!

Barring a total “nice try. try again.” from the editor, the projected release date is…July 8th!

Why so long out, you might ask. Well…the editor has it now. I expect to have it back in my hand in a couple of weeks. I will then go through the edits, make the corrections, add, rewrite, as suggested by said editor. Then a final read through is done before it goes to be formatted. All  of this takes time, but is essential in making sure the story is presented to you…the reader…in its best light. I hope you will find it to be worth the wait.

The cover reveal will be coming soon. Suzanna Lynn of Funky Book Designs did an amazing job and I can’t wait for you to see it.

Until next week…Happy Reading!

Thank you

THANK YOU

& sorry for the delay…

For quite a long time, you’ve been gracious as I’ve blathered on about the Prowlers & Growlers boxset…Thank you for that. And to those who ordered it anyway…THANK YOU. We, the authors of P&G are most grateful for the readers who launched us to the USA Today Bestsellers list last week. It is still surreal.

I’m not going to cloud this up with anything else. Just thank you to those who made it possible.

Fierce

Recently, a very dear friend of mine advised me that they love that I am ‘fierce.’ I take this as a priceless compliment. I think I am fierce too. I love fiercely, live fiercely, and charge forward with an untenable focus on my pursuits. It is no mistake that the Rhino is my logo and philosophy.

I am also fiercely loyal as a friend. I will interject myself into situations to defend when necessary, or to stand up in the stead of a friend who is not present to do so for themselves. I personally believe this is the hallmark of friendship, or at least one of them…brutal honestly, and sometimes being the director of shenanigans is also in the job description.

But…all this fierceness, makes the results fierce too. For example…the mad, crazy juggle often is the source code for a FIERCE headache, fierce disappointment, and fierce self-condemnation. I am angry and frustrated when I can’t run as hard as I feel I should, or learn something faster. I want to be better with each day, at everything I endeavor to accomplish. This is not always the reality.

As you have seen, I have been part of two recent sets with others. One was…for lack of a better description, Author Marketing 101 on crack. I have never learned so much in such a short window while at the time feeling like I dropped so many balls. I ran hard, and gave my all…and at the end of the crazy push – I am frustrated that I couldn’t learn more to do more faster. Add that everything else on my plate has sort of become soupy from running together as they got luke warm…and my frustration is ugly, and fierce.

Whatever comes next, there is a fierce pride commingled with the disappointment. Next time…I will be better, I will be faster, and I will contribute more if it kills me. Yes, I’ve said it to myself and the organizer…who assures me that growth takes time. I might believe her.

Until that, I’m re-evaluating my agenda. I still have every intention of releasing the other 5 works in 2017. The dates may juggle, but this is me being fierce…fiercely hard-headed & stubborn to achieve the goals. Which means, it’s back to the cave after I finish posting my promos for today, because juggling…often takes time that would be used for other things…and there are no more hours so NOW it is.

See you on the pages.
Sav.

Snippet, snippet, here’s a snippet

I’m smack-dab in the middle of the second to last chapter of The Veil Path to Destiny. Woot Woot.

Here is the last snippet of The Veiled Path to Destiny I will share before the book is published. Remember, it’s unedited and subject to change:

Caitriona quickly gained her footing lest she be dragged down the hallway after the sudden and unexpected turn around. “Where are we going?”

Daria turned her head to look at Caitriona, her silver eyes bright with excitement she hadn’t seen in too many days to count. “Outside. The sun is shining, and I can’t wait to feel it on my skin. It’s been too long and the Goddess only knows how long it will last.”

“Are you sure we should be doing that, my lady?”

Daria smiled. “Relax, we’re only going to the gardens.”

Red curls bouncing around her shoulders, Caitriona rolled her eyes and shook her head. “I’ve heard that one before. You’re going to get me fired one of these days.”

“Pffft…Iauron won’t fire you. He’ll just withhold my orgasms for a week, and trust me, I don’t want that.” The sound of Caitriona’s choked laugh stopped Daria in her tracks. “I said that out loud didn’t I?”

Her face red with sufficed laughter, Caitriona raised a hand to cover the smile she couldn’t keep from curving the corners of her mouth, and nodded. “You did.”

Daria huffed out an exasperated breath, “Well frick! I didn’t say anything, and you…you’ll forget hearing what I didn’t say.”

Caitriona giggled, “Oh, but you did, and I won’t.”

Daria glared at Caitriona who had become more of a friend than she was a servant. “Come on, we’re burning daylight.” She groused and continued their trek down the hall.

Once Caitriona had donned her boots and coat, they made their way to the kitchen to grab some bird feed. While Caitriona filled a small tin pail, Daria snagged a fresh from the oven biscuit. Under the watchful eye of the cook, split it in two and slathered each half with a healthy dollop of honey butter from the wooden bowl sitting on the counter. She took a bite and sighed in delight at the sweetness of the butter washing over her taste buds. “Sooo good, Molly. Will you save me some for when we come back in?”

“Of course, Miss. It would be my pleasure. I’ll have a fresh batch waiting in the warmer for you along with some hot chocolate.”

Snagging another biscuit, she wrapped it in a white cloth napkin and stowed it in large pocket of her cloak. “You’re a doll, Molly.” Daria complimented her, neatly avoiding the ‘thank you’ that automatically danced at the tip of tongue.

Molly’s face flushed with pride, “Off with you two now.”

Daria hooked her arm with Caitriona’s and rushed out the kitchen door leading to the side courtyard. She lifted her face to the soft breeze as it caressed her face and neck. She deeply inhaled the crisp, cool air and smiled.

WOWSA!

This week…set 1 of 2 in April drops for me. I’m so stinking proud of the group of authors in the Sultry & Sinful: Femmes of Paranormal group. We had an absolute blast and the hashtags for our little company of crazy will be bouncing around forever for us I’m sure. I can’t wait to work with these ladies again!

This set is about the relationship between two women. It is, to our thinking, an underrepresented genre in the word world. Regardless of what you personally prefer, love is love, and these stories take it to the next level…because, well it’s paranormal on top of being F/F. The stories are diverse and cover the spectrum; sweet, sassy, sultry, sexy, sinful…we’ve got all you S’s covered here.

Dropping tomorrow, you can still grab yours today at the preorder price of $0.99. Such a deal!

As I mentioned last week. I was just at North Iowa Book Bash. I love this event so hard. Here’s a couple of images from the event…yes, we do start signings by popping champagne…doesn’t everyone?

I had the great joy of getting to have a snap with the always amazing Jenna Jacob…and that handsome guy is Eric Jacob…the cover model I told you about last week. He’s a great example of how to be…say hello to him when you get the chance!

As I’ve been playing taskmaster on the youngest to wrap her online class, I’m behind schedule. Just in time, as I begin working on Ela’s…these little lovelies show up…INSPIRATION for sure!

And now…I’ll get back to the pages because…well, I took some time away and it’s time to put the hammer down. Read something great until I see you again! ~Sav

Return to the cave

I’m wrung out. Weirdly too. From Biloxi Mississippi to home is a 15 hour drive. I did that with few hiccups, though the drive to the gulf was nearly my undoing…15 hours on next to no sleep made the sway of the car far too soothing to easily continue. caffeine was my friend.  North Iowa Book Bash is a mere 4.4 hours away…should be able to do that blindfolded and in full zombie, but the return trip this time kicked my ass.

The great thing about it is that I sold out of 2 titles, and liberated most of my swag inventory….which means…I get to order books and choose new swag. YIPPPEEEE….it’s like a holiday all over again. My Mardi Gras connection is getting a call ASAP! I need more goodies with Book of Mysteries hitting this summer.

Seriously though, BFF Bookies do such a great job of putting on an amazing event. I swear – it’s like a reunion with all the folks that you shared the kids table with at Christmas and conspired with on how to liberate the desserts without the grown ups noticing. SO MUCH FUN! I will return every year they’ll have me. TRUTH. Normally, I’m a full table girl cuz I like to spread out. This year I had a half and shared which was fine…but I’d sit at a tv tray in the corner if I had to…if you’re in range – PUT THIS ON YOUR TO DO LIST! I promise you’ll thank me.

Other than a little library thing…I’m in the cave now. I’ve WAY overloaded my calendar and I’m raring to get on it. I’ve got a box set and an anthology releasing this month yet…but I’ve got FIVE more releases happening THIS YEAR…and after a brain detour in Clear Lake…I may be swapping a cover out yet for one of those (or quite possibly two) with a model whom I’ve come to respect for his professionalism and poise in the midst of the reader event crazy. It matters…and this guy has earned the marks…hope you agree when you see the covers. It makes me happy to give back to the community that shares this writing world.

So – keep an eagle eye on the horizon…there’s gonna be something popping up often. Til then, see you on the pages.  ~Sav

I need a time-turner

The days are flying and once again, I nearly forgot to post here. I’m completely stymied on where the time is going and I think I’d really like one of Hermione’s time-turner do-jobbers to try to get a few hours of work done. I’m staring at the clock, 9.26 pm and I can’t figure out where the time went.

CASE Revelations has gotten a few amazing reviews and I’m so thankful that folks are reading it for its intentions. One reader messaged me when they finished…one word – “Wow.” MADE MY DAY!

I still have a multi-page to do list, but I’m crossing items off one by one. I have another signing event this weekend in Clear Lake Iowa…NORTH IOWA BOOK BASH….amazing time hosted by the BFF Bookies. I’m stoked. I’m also taking my voice recorder because I’m behind on my writing and with 8 releases in 2017, there’s no wiggle room.

SO – here is your mission, if you choose to accept it. IF you notice me hangin around social media and slacking off – KICK ME OFFLINE and tell me to get to work. I don’t bite (unless requested) and I can use the support to keep going, just like every author I know. I’ll thank you in advance for your efforts!  MWAH!

Til next time – read something amazing. I’ll see you on the pages.  ~Sav

Well…there’s that.

PHEW!

I’m home from a week+ away. I spent over 35 hours on the road there, back, and in between to other places and I’m spent. But…there’s no rest, not really anyway. There will always be something more to do and the list is cross one-add three. Invariably, I’m looking at one thing and something else pops up…”well, there’s that now too.”

BUT…it’s all good. I met some amazing readers, had some awesome chats with new to me (and new to publishing) authors…and got to laugh out loud. So, I’m solid. This week will be a lot of catch up for me, to get the promo back on track for Sultry & Sinful: The Femmes of Paranormal, and Prowlers & Growlers….as well as to be continuing the promotion for C.A.S.E. Revelations…there’s tons in the hopper.

I’m off again in less than 2 weeks to North Iowa Book Bash, and another fun, incredible signing event, plus I’ve got to finish Ela’s Cinder for May. Like I said, no rest. So, I guess I should take a moment to say thanks for the ones I just had.

The little river house was lovely, and mostly quiet…and if I didn’t use each moment to the fullest, I have no one else to blame.  Watch for the last March newsletter coming out from me on Wednesday with some reads from the signing authors at Biloxi…I’ll leave you with my final sunset from the trip.

Til next time…see you on the pages!

Teaser Thursday

Remember that light in the tunnel I told you about a couple of posts ago? Well it’s getting brighter! WooHoo!

That being said…I thought I’d share another unedited snippet from The Veiled Path to Destiny~The Veil Book 2, with you.

“I love the reaction your body has when I pay attention to that particular spot.” Iauron whispered in her ear, his hands skimming up the sides of her torso to cup her breasts. His thumbs brushed across swollen peaks of her nipples pushing at the cloth of her shirt. “Now this is a glorious sight.” She gasped as his fingers and thumb tweaked the sensitive buds only to release them and take a step back.

An incredulous expression across her features, Daria spun around to face Iauron. “Where are you going?”

A knowing smirk curved the corners of his mouth. A teasing gleam shimmered in his blue eyes. “Exploring of course.” Holding a hand out to her, he started walking backwards. “Are you coming?’

Daria glared at Iauron. The amusement radiating off of him had her gritting her teeth. “Fine.” She grumbled, bending down to pick up her discarded sweater.

“Leave it.” Iauron uttered, stalling her reach.

“I might need it if it gets cold.” She argued.

“I promise to keep you warm should you catch a chill.”

Daria walked towards him. “I’m going to hold you to that promise.” Daria warned, placing her much smaller hand onto his.

Iauron raised her hand to his mouth, “Trust me to see to your every need, mo chroí.” He beseeched her, brushing the back of her fingers with his lips. Tucking her hand into the crook of his arm, he winked at her. “Come, lass. We have much to see and much to do.”

“You’re awfully bossy, you do know that, right?” Daria asked, falling into step with him.

“Consider it one of the perks of being King.”

She shook her head. “Tell me another perk.”

Continuing to hold her hand against his arm and walk, Iauron looked down at her. All joviality left his face. “Claiming you as my Queen once again.”

Feeling the flush heat up her cheeks, Daria tore her gaze from his soul piercing one and scraped her teeth across her bottom lip. “I don’t know what say to that.” She confessed.

Iauron halted their walk an stood in front of her. Lifting her chin with his free hand, he pressed his lips to her forehead. “Fret not about a responding, little one.” He replaced his lips on her brow with his forehead, and stared into her eyes. “It is but a truth that needs neither acknowledgment nor a response. It just simply is.”

Running 220 with my hair on fire

It’s that day. I’m on the road and likely recording errant thoughts for work I intend to do when I reach my destination. I’ve been running 220 with my hair on fire for weeks leading up to this. C.A.S.E. Revelations came out a scant two weeks ago, and I’ve got an anthology & a boxed set on the near horizon that has been calling hours to promote as well. Add in packing & prep for a signing (and liberation from the real world), plus final edits/assessment of a manuscript for someone else (that I finished at nearly 3 am on Saturday morning, I might add), and you’ll have me scrambling to pack and get out the door on time.

But, by the time this posts, I’ll be long on my way. Send coffee. I’ll need it by now.

With the sun coming up to my left, I should be well beyond my beloved home state and likely  well on my way to warmer. It’s always amusing to make this trek, shedding layers as the hours pass.

So…what will you do this week? Me, I’ve got no phone, no neighbors…and a large riverhouse to shelter me and my thoughts as I try to plunk out at least 1 or 2 of the upcoming works that need words…and grab a few lazy hours on the deck in the hammock catching up on some great reads! Bliss folks…bliss is coming.

I’m going to hope for access to post next weeks snippet with fun from Booking In Biloxi…the signing is the gold standard and I’m hopeful to find a coffee joint if necessary to upload before I get back on the road to head north and have to stop to once again put pants on.

Til then…read something awesome.
See you on the pages.
