Covers, covers…everywhere!

Posting on Mondays is odd sometimes…especially when covers are revealed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. This past week, my PA started a promo/review tour for me that includes the cover reveal for Book III in The Custos Series – Book of Mysteries. Soon, I’ll be able to share the story – but for now…here’s the blurb & the cover, graced by a good friend of mine, Eric Jacob.

Book of Mysteries The Custos Book III

Release Date – September 2017 Pre-Order coming soon

Twins Poppy and Bergie share everything, including an ability to read the mysterious book that Bergie gets Mardi Gras Day when the Muddy Graws debut in the big parade. Not to be left behind, Poppy inserts herself into the twisting turn of events when she takes the book from its hiding place and changes everything, shifting the balance between light and dark.

Sebastian Winder has his hands full. The new Keeper has a twin who knows more than she should and is being actively recruited by White Diamond. Fearing the worst, the Custos guardian asks for an assistant. Who he gets is as green a Custos as there ever was, fresh from the Farther Fields, Ramsby Roth.

In this third installment of The Custos series, it might take every one available to keep the book from the wrong hands as the odds are stacking against them. Just when they think the end is in sight, World War I erupts, Bergie is sent to serve, and Mardi Gras festivities in New Orleans are cancelled.

How can they keep the book safe now?

Only the book knows.

NEXT WEEK – I have ANOTHER cover reveal for Imposs-i-Bella. Sadly, unless you’ll be joining me at Writers on the River in Peoria this Saturday, you’ll have to wait 2 weeks to see it here since it comes out on Wednesday…

Missed it by ‘that’ much…

FINAL COVER REVEALED…

Last Tuesday, the final cover for Book of Change was revealed a few scant hours after my normal Monday blog post here. If you weren’t on my Facebook page to see it, here it is…

I LOVE THIS COVER. It blew me away when I saw the base image because it fits so well with a scene from the book that I almost had to check my office for hidden cameras. I put the base image up on my wall immediately to remind myself where this was going, and still get goose bumps to see this as I write the next pieces. Next pieces? yes actually – next pieces.

I, with my PA Jillian (who honestly saves my bacon on a regular basis) worked a few things out recently, including that this book is part of a larger series…
While very tentatively called The Custos, I am probably not going to officially title the series to demarcate it on each book. What I can tell you right now, is that I believe there are 5 books in the series. Book of Change is technically the first, but actually the second as Book of Time is a better introduction to the players and the overall pretense of the stories involved. I just wrote them in the wrong order.

Because of this little flippity-flop, I have elected to hold the release for Book of Change just a little longer to correlate with the release of Book of Time. Keep an eagle eye on the horizon for August because after I wrap Authors After Dark in Savannah Georgia (where attendees with get first option on them), both books will go live…and you’ll get to submerge into a side of New Orleans and Mardi Gras that you didn’t know was there.

2017 will bring the release of book 3 in the series – Book of Mysteries, and the remaining two will have release dates determined after I get a few other things settled out. Book of Revelations and Book of Prophecy are the working titles for those but will have to come after I get Chasing Daylight – (my book for Cherry Adair’s 2016 Finish the Damn Book challenge), and Bet the House off the desk. We won’t talk about the sticky notes for the other books I can’t shake from my head yet. 🙂

Annnnd then there’s the list of books I’m working on for the other EBB authors…ya’ll are getting spoiled. NO other coop of our size has such an active roster. I believe I’m finally back on track. The first 6 months of 2016 have been insane. The surgery I had in April is now nearly healed and ready for phase II, the mother in law’s estate is close to being finally settled a month later, the hubs is halfway through recovery from his surgery and the oldest has had her grad party and is ready to sign for her ship date now and get off to the Navy to see the world.

My world can officially become Write – Edit – Promote – Repeat again

It’s about time!!     ~Sav

99 bottles of beer on the wall.

Just a couple of things quick as I’m trying to clean up my act and get my butt back on track. It feels a lot like 99 bottles of beer on the wall after about the third bottle comes down.

One – if you’ve been waiting, there is a countdown to July 21st for the cover reveal for Book of Change. If you’ve not met me live in the last couple months you likely haven’t seen it and I LOVE this cover…follow along on my author page over at Facebook.

Second, If you’ve followed me even a little bit, or by accident you may have seen that I am a plotter. The board has been sorely void for far too many days in a row, but there is HOPE and LIGHT now…the board is awash in bright, beautiful sticky notes. I can’t wait to rip them down. 🙂 This board is soooo much easier than the last one I worked on for Kingdoms Fall…that one had so many freaking story arcs going on, that I think ‘Technicolor yawn’ was a grand description for that plot board. This board is more reminiscent of Viva Zapata & the Magic 8-Ball. I’m hopeful it writes as well as that book too.

Lastly, if you’re joining me at Authors After Dark in Georgia, you’ll be first to get your hands on The Custos…come find out what the White Diamond is and what 43 is all about. Can’t wait to share more soon!!

For those who have been waiting, Kingdoms Fall will be available to add to your shelf come the Ides…March 15th. Please shout when you have it in your mitts, when you’ve read it, and when you read it again. LOL!
There is a lot in book III. I wrote it, (with help) and I’ve had to read it a time or three to know we got it done. 😉

Thanks for the follow. ~Aedan

No particular harbor

I’ll never be rich. I know that at this stage in my life, and have managed to come to terms with the revelation. Actually, I think I rather like the idea of it. The only downside is I have a dream of one day sailing off and disappearing away somewhere to read, write, and lie in the sun. No particular harbor calls me to it, just the idea of escaping the world as it exists now, and the direction it seems to be headed. I’ve been stocking my library for decades now. The books are ready to be consumed.

The last year plus a few months have been frantic and discombobulated. I can see more clearly the destructive side of it now that I’m looking back. It didn’t seem quite so lost a cause in the middle. I was sure I could pull out of the funk I was in and make it a tally to the good column. I was mistaken. Only with intervention and a whole lot of support did the spiral still, and eventually move in the upturned direction again.

Fortunately for me…and you, as I think the book coming out before I’ll know how to react yet is better for it. The language is stronger, the scenes are tighter, and I know the story is more fully realized and fleshed out. Some day I’ll go back and pick up the first run of it. I’m not ready to see it just now. I want to take this time to enjoy the success of the one that is and to stand in the light with it, the darkness had its turn.

Kingdoms Fall will be out in the next 21 days. Are you ready? The cover reveal is March 1st…keep an eye open. I think it is stunning.

Read something good!

Re-size, not revise

Warrior’s Watchtower is coming out again. The interior files, with the exception of all the ‘big black dots’ has not changed, so if you’re content with your copy… Ooo-rah, enjoy.

The book has been resized down to 5.5 x 8.5 to match up with Oracle on the shelf and Kingdoms Fall which will be out in about five weeks. It’s getting a full wrap cover too. Pretty snazzy. It is not quite done as of yet, just a couple little squitches to do, but I thought mayhap you’d like a peek….yes?

Yes!

Dontcha jest LOVE IT!

I DO!!

Should be familiar, as the base image is the same for the front. Say buh-bye to your purple box copies, or hang onto them…  I’ve spotted at least 2 unique things that will not make it to the re-released edition. *big grin* They’re collectors editions. 🙂

I’ll share the cover for the upcoming Kingdoms Fall in a few weeks…I’m jacked sky-high for that one!

See you on the pages. ~Aedan

COVER REVEAL – Jolanthe Aleksander

We’ve got another one!

Jolanthe Aleksander’s debut is almost ready to be released.

here’s the cover and a peek.

JAleksander-BtVoWD_TheVeil1_HiRes

Things are not always simple or what they seem.
Daria McClaren is content. She has her dance school, her cousin Celine and the man of her dreams. Literally.

Iauron is uneasy. As the High King of the Fae, his chosen Queen Verisiel is calling to him, but he cannot find her. The court insists that she has crossed over. He is not so sure that is the case. He has searched every realm looking. Every realm, but the human one.

The race is on.

Beyond the veil lie truths waiting to be revealed.

Which one will have the courage to look?

Will they be in time?

**************************************

  “Do you trust me?”
She gazed deep into his eyes, breathed in his scent which calmed her nerves, and nodded. “Yes.”
His blue eyes sparkled with pleasure and his lips bowed into a slight smile which kept the dreams, or memories as he called them, from crashing down on her once again. Her subconscious had known he would never hurt her, now her conscious mind did as well. The only questions were, did she trust herself? Was she brave enough to do as he said and face what was haunting her head on?
“You do not have to face them alone.” Iauron read the concern etched on her face, “I will be with you. We’ll sift through them and put them in the proper perspective,” he assured her.
She searched his eyes and face, “Alright, but could you let go of my hair first?”
“I can do that, mo chroí, but first I’m going to do this.” He wrapped her hair around his hand and pulled. His mouth crashed down on to hers as it flew open in shock.
An onslaught of images from a time and place she didn’t yet know flooded her mind. Not the terrifying dreams that sent her heart racing and her feet fleeing to escape. Images of unbridled passion shared with Iauron that sped up her heartbeat for a completely different reason and made her want to tear his clothing off and climb his body. She was drowning in lust and desire and didn’t care. He sucked the breath from her lungs, leaving them burning. She didn’t panic at the lack of air. She trusted him to breathe her back to life.

16 Days and Counting!

16 Days Until my debut at Kentuckiana

– I can hardly wait!

todolist

In all the excitement,  I am at a loss for words – which is a rare thing for me. In lieu of writing some rambling thing that in the end makes no sense I’ve decided to share 16 things from my to-do list.

  1.  A promo plan needs to be hatched! While I”m thinking about it – have a look here at BTS Book Reviews magazine on page 23! SQUEE!
  2. Books are on order but have not arrived – this does not agree with my OCD tendencies. NOT. IN. THE. LEAST.
  3. Meanwhile LIFE continues with its demands and I have a packed schedule. A bachelorette party this Saturday –  calm down, no male strippers.  It’s an all day spa thing at  a place in Illinois.  On the one hand I’m excited  because I get a massage. On the other, I have to don a swimsuit – eek!
  4. Locate my swimming suit and try it on to make certain it fits. Otherwise, it’s going to be embarrassing.
  5. Yesterday was a doctors visit, today was blood-work, next week is  eye doctor and the obgyn – oh the joy.  Fasting for the blood-word I can handle, but that part about not having my coffee. . . . the nurse is alive after poking me three times simply because I was too fatigued to do anything.
  6. Pre-wedding preparations –  pick up the tuxedo,  rehearsal dinner, salon appointment so she can attempt to do something with my hair along with the other bridesmaids, then the wedding and reception. I wonder if she’s having an open bar?
  7. Figure out a gift. What do you get your big sister who is remarrying after being widowed? I am open to suggestions.  Desperate for them actually!
  8. Finish my swag for the Kentuckiana and send to the event planner. OK, technically this is two things but they are two steps of one item. OCD- remember?
  9. Complete my licensing classes for my day job.  Dry dull lecture with power point notes about Dodd Frank laws,  mortgage fraud, RESPA, TILA,  and twenty other acronyms for boring dry stuff that no one but  the people in Washington and mortgage officers care about. My eyes hurt already.
  10. Visit my daughter for an early birthday celebration which looks to be on a Sunday. I don’t know which Sunday yet,  and she’s not happy about that.
  11. Get the down low from Savannah on some finer details.
  12. Get a manicure!  This is my reward for myself for finishing my book. It’s scheduled for next Thursday. Now to just decide a color that will go good with a black and white dress, and look good in the tropics. Maybe I should search on Pinterest for something really cool that would work.
  13. Continue working on book 2!  I have the bulk of it down.  In revising and editing, I have noticed a few plot holes that the warriors vanguard could fall through, so I must plug those holes .
  14. Contact as many Missouri wineries as I can for a book tour. I live in the heart of wine country here.  I know most people think NAPA valley or Italy, but Missouri has some fantastic wineries. I’ve visited a few and could recommend my top picks!
  15. Clean out the multiple files  that I have for Red Wine & Roses. I have an external hard drive with  numerous saved copies, parts, beta responses, editor copy,  etc.  I think I could probably condense those down to a few now.
  16. Breathe. As the debut day draws closer, I’m getting more anxious. I find myself being anxious, being obsessed with tiny details.  It’s alright.  It’s all good.  Breathe, Breathe, breathe.

RW&R4

OK, so it may not be a big deal to anyone but me, but  this is a huge milestone for me! HUGE!  Tomorrow . . . . THE COVER REVEAL!

I’ll have links to share from blogs that are hosting my cover reveal on my author page. I hope you will check it out and let me know what you think of the design!
