It’s LIVE!

It’s LIVE! Breathe Me to Life found in the Once Upon A Twisted Time box set is live!

Here are what some of the reader who have read Breathe Me to Life have said about it:

“Breathe me to life by Jolanthe Aleksander
A fae Prince. Love. Fate.
Will Kellan and Allisa manage to fall in Love even when she’s a mortal?
Well written read with a lot of complicated plot things.”

“Breathe me to life by Jolanthe Aleksander
A complicated love story. What are you willing to do for true love? A story that will keep you thinking long after its done.”

“Breathe Me to Life is a wonderful short story by Jolanthe Alexander. This was a nice introduction to her writing. The story flowed nicely and left me wanting more. I look forward to reading more from this author. This is a great collection of stories!”

I admit, I smiled like a Cheshire Cat, emitted a squeal or two, and did a happy chair dance, when I read those reviews.

I have to confess that writer’s doubt was STRONG where this story was concerned. I was sure my story was going to be a flop compared to what the other writers contributed. There are some incredibly talented authors in this set. Don’t get me wrong…I know not everyone is going to enjoy Breathe Me to Life, but right now…I know of 3 people who did and that makes my heart smile.

If you would like to read it, along with the other 14 stories in the set…it’s only 99 pennies. It will be available on all platforms for a few more days before the set goes exclusively to KU. The buy links will be posted below.

BREATHE ME TO LIFE Ailsa was biding her time when the call of the music floating on the wings of the night’s wind led her to a moonlit glen and another world. Kellan, Prince of the Fae Court, was tired and bored with things as they were until a young woman not only sparked his interest but his desire to finally claim a mate. Two souls find in each other a connection unlike any other. A chance encounter brought them together. A dream created a bond. Will the jealousy of one who was scorned tear them apart? Or will love’s kiss breathe life into a sleeping beauty?

Stroking the Ego of the Muse

I’d like to open this post by saying, my thoughts and prayers are with those who were affected by Hurricane Harvey, those in the path of Hurricane Irma, and those affected by the wildfires off to the Northwest. Please stay safe and evacuate if need be. Things are replaceable…YOU are not.

Sometimes the Muse needs a bit of an ego stroke. This past weekend, that stroke came in the form of reviews of both Beyond the Veil of Whispered Dreams and The Veiled Path to Destiny. I have to admit, I preened a little bit too! Have you read them yet?

Here is what one reader had to say about Beyond the Veil of Whispered Dreams…
“This book has it all Fantasy, romance, suspense, hot Fey, and catty women over stepping their boundaries.
I can’t wait to read the next story to see if Daria remembers herself, if enemies are thwarted, and if love can shine”

And here is what a reviewer had to say about The Veiled Path to Destiny.
“An amazing heartfelt book. This story is about the illusion of time and how this luxury can be easily taken away…A beautiful follow up to Beyond the Veil of Whispered Dreams.”

Reviews of one’s work are a double edged sword. They have the ability to stir the cauldron of doubt that is on a constant simmer, or they can give you and your Muse the boost of knowing you are doing something write and the courage to keep going. Because let’s face it…it takes courage to expose your work, your creation, to the scrutiny and, hopefully, the enjoyment of the public.

Until next week…Happy Reading!

Reviews. I will admit I am not always prompt on leaving reviews for the books I read. To be honest, before I became an author, I never really much thought about it. If I liked the book, I put it on the bookshelf and searched for the next book in that series, or if it was a stand-alone, I searched for the next book by that author. If I didn’t like it, I sold it to the used bookstore.

Now that I am an author, I see the importance of reviews as far as getting a book into the hands of other readers. I find myself reading the reviews of books I buy, especially if the author is a new one to me, and I usually pay more attention to the 3 and 4 star reviews.

I know some people don’t leave reviews because they feel like they don’t know what to say, but reviews don’t have to be more than one or two sentences. Leave a star rating and in the comment section leave something like, “Great Read”, “Loved it.” or if you didn’t like it, “Bleh.”

There is a theory floating around that after 20-25 reviews on Amazon, a book will get included in their “Also Bought” and “You Might Like” lists. Which makes the books more visible to readers looking for new reads.

I don’t like asking for reviews. It gets annoying to see an author ask for reviews day after day, but I also think that every once in awhile, it’s ok to say, “Hey…if you read my book and you liked it, please leave a review.”

So here goes….If you have read Beyond the Veil of Whispered Dreams…please leave a review. Thank you!

Until next week….Happy Reading!

Some days ya gotta crow…

The Red Queen launched finally late last week. After several long months of struggle to get Margaret to wrap it up so I could take it to print, she sat back and said “That’s all you get…for now.” Yes, there is more to come from our friend Mags but she will have to wait to finish her tale as others are getting their 15 minutes next.

Some Might Call it Magick is slotted to come out at the end of 2015 accomplishing two things; One, getting the release dates back on track, and Two, putting a second F3 series book in your hand this year. I would be a big fat liar if I said this was anything short of daunting! With this in mind…tell me who you want to hear about. Yes, we’ll hear from Thorne, can’t leave him hanging. We’ll may hear from Aaron & Sharilyn, Jade, Remy & Grant, Drew, and perhaps even our latest favorite resident bad boy Bart…I have lots of options and no hard decisions right now. The only one I know for certain is Carolyn who has been patiently waiting to tell her story after Colb left her at the quarterly party.

For the moment though, I want to crow. TRQ is out and Maggie did herself proud. Here’s what readers are saying…

amazon reviewer: I have read Swingers several times and could hardly wait to read The Red Queen. I wanted to get to know who the Red Queen truly was, her upbringing, thoughts and what molded her to become the woman she is today.
This is a must read by a brilliant author. I will be waiting on pins and needles for more in the series.

amazon reviewer: A journey of growth and becoming who we want to be. This is Maggie’s story. Full of emotional highs and lows, Abyrne Mostyn eloquently takes the reader through Maggie’s story, from her childhood, the tragedies, and items in a certain laundry bag that pulled back the curtain giving her a glimpse of what she wanted and helped form who and what she wants to become. Though the Fantasies, Fetishes, & Flesh series is in part, erotica in nature, these stories, especially The Red Queen, are so much more than sex scene after sex scene. So, if you enjoy a story with some HAWT sex scenes intermixed but not the sole focus, then this story is for you!!

amazon reviewer: I’ve read “Swingers” and The Dom’s Diary. Enjoyed both and looked forward to “Red Queen” continuing the story. The Red Queen was not what I expected. It was so much MORE! The book has my sensory perceptions on overload. If you are new to this world, you will gain an understanding that does not cheapen the lifestyle. And if you are already familiar with this world, I think you will enjoy Maggie and her tale.

Thank you to everyone who has read or is reading and sharing Maggie’s tale. I look forward to telling her and Chris’ story in Lock & Key, but again, that will be after SMCIM. Thanks for letting me take my moment!  have a great one.
