When the mind goes still …

What I can write about that’s writing related? My mind is blank and my brain is mush. I’ve got nothing. It’s been one of those weeks. Life has demanded my attention and drained all of my energy in the process. By the time I get home in the evenings, I’ve been too brain dead to even think about working on revisions or my short story.

I sit at my computer staring at the pages of book two; I make a change here, add a line there. Before I know it, I’m staring at stock photos looking for the perfect picture for characters in my book. My mind drifts and apparently, my fingers go with it. I don’t need pics of my characters, I already have pics of my muses tacked on a corkboard staring me in the face when I’m at the computer. I’m simply too tired to focus. And considering that I should be writing; it’s not a good thing.

I have been, however, enjoying long chatty phone conversations with dear friends this past week. Those calls have done me a world of good. Sometimes you need to share, vent, and just enjoy a good laugh. Thanks to these wonderful women, I’ve had all of this and much more. Enough to recharge me so I can think again. I’m ready to sit down and get back to work. My weekend is pretty much my own, and I have a few ideas to play with. Time to get back to writing, hopefully it will be productive.

Till next week,

~ Madison
